Christoforos Matthaiou, a representative of Pafos FC, expressed his concern about the team's recent decline in form, emphasizing the need for an immediate reaction to avoid being eliminated from their goals. He acknowledged that the responsibility lies with everyone, including the previous coach and the players, for the distance from the top of the league. Regarding Karsedo's departure, he stated that Pafos made an effort to keep him, but the financial offer from another team was too high, potentially over two million euros for his contract. He stated that he is not sure about the exact details, but it is clear that Pafos could not compete with such an offer. Concerning the selection of Theladas as the new coach, Matthaiou emphasized that the new coach has a similar philosophy to his predecessor. However, he acknowledged that the situation is difficult, as Theladas took over mid-season and with a demanding schedule. He highlighted the existence of concentration problems and fatigue among the players, as well as the psychological impact of successive defeats. Despite the difficulties, Matthaiou expressed optimism about the team's ability to recover, pointing to the potential of the players. He added that Omonia and AEK are in excellent form, but the playoffs offer opportunities to recover points. He stressed the importance of concentration and a return to the passion that characterized the team.
