McDonald’s Closes Underperforming Stores in Attica, Focuses on ‘Hotspots’

McDonald’s in Greece is revising its strategy, closing underperforming stores and investing in high-traffic areas, known as ‘hotspots’. The recent closure concerns the store on Doukissis Plakentias 1 in Halandri, which opened in 2022 with an investment of 1.5 million euros but did not meet expectations. The company is considering a second closure by 2025. Simultaneously, it plans new openings, such as at The Mall Athens in 2026 and in tourist areas, aiming to reach 50 restaurants by 2028. Premier Capital Greece, which manages the brand, has invested over 51 million euros since 2011 in renovations and infrastructure, including a new Distribution Center in Aspropyrgos. The company emphasizes that sustainable development and network optimization are priorities.
