New Scam in the Name of GESY: Requesting 'Correction' of Details to Steal Money

Citizens are urged to be vigilant due to a new scam targeting users through SMS messages falsely sent by GESY. Scammers are requesting the 'correction' of personal details via links, with the aim of stealing banking details and stealing money. The Cyprus Police is investigating the case. The Health Insurance Organization (HIO) and the Police warn that there is an increase in such incidents. They point out that GESY and the HIO will never request sensitive data via SMS, such as passwords or payment details. The authorities recommend that citizens ignore suspicious messages, do not open the links and delete them immediately, in order to protect their personal and financial data. Information is provided through the official channels of the HIO. This scam poses a risk to citizens and requires special attention and vigilance.
