New Year's Tragedy in Crans Montana: Dozens Dead, Hundreds Injured

A deadly fire at a bar in the Swiss ski resort of Crans Montana has caused a major tragedy, with the death toll reaching approximately 40 and the number of injured at 115, many of whom are seriously injured. The fire broke out in the early hours of New Year's Day and spread rapidly, likely caused by birthday candles being held too close to the wooden roof. The bar owners, a French couple, are alive. Switzerland has declared five days of mourning, and flags will fly at half-mast. Among the victims are Italian citizens, with 16 reported missing and around 12 injured.
