Old Paphos Police Station to Become Historical Documentation Center

The project to transform the old Paphos Police Station into a Historical Documentation Center is in full swing, costing almost 10 million euros and lasting 15 months. The project includes the renovation of the outdoor areas and the conservation and conversion of the listed building, based on a special museological study. The aim is to connect the urban environment with the history of the city, through a walking route starting from the Armenian Genocide Park and ending in the urban square. The Center will host exhibitions and digital tours presenting the history of Paphos from 332 BC to the present day. Historical documents are already being collected from citizens, revealing unknown aspects of the city's history. The collection and exhibition of relics from important events and periods is a primary goal. The renovation includes the creation of urban furniture, seating areas and sanitary facilities. Access to the Center will be via a modern building, which will serve as an entrance and provide information about the history of Paphos. The works are at an advanced stage and are expected to be completed soon. The municipal authorities and the ETΕK (Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus) support the implementation of the project, believing that it will contribute to the development of the historical center and attract visitors. The project is a significant investment for the city of Paphos and is expected to highlight its historical and cultural heritage.
