Over 600 Vehicles Checked – Seven Arrests Made by Police

Police continue their targeted preventative operations in urban areas, aiming to prevent criminal activity and ensure public order. During operations carried out overnight, over 600 vehicles were stopped for inspection and more than 750 people were checked. A total of seven people were arrested for various offenses, including illegal possession of drugs, burglary, domestic violence, driving under the influence of alcohol, and illegal residence in Cyprus. One person was also arrested for failing to comply with police instructions. During inspections of premises, four complaints were filed for violations of operating licenses. At the same time, traffic checks were carried out, resulting in 211 reports for various traffic violations, including 87 for speeding and 25 for driving under the influence of alcohol. Four drivers tested positive for drugs. These operations are part of a broader, ongoing and enhanced preventative plan by the Police, with increased presence, targeted checks and immediate action, aiming to strengthen the sense of security of citizens.
