Police Raids Across Cyprus Lead to Five Arrests

The Cyprus Police conducted enhanced preventative operations throughout the night, focusing on key urban areas to prevent serious crime, protect citizens, and maintain public order. During these operations, five individuals were arrested for various offenses, including driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to appear in court, speeding, and outstanding warrants. Over 400 vehicles and 600 individuals were checked, and 23 premises were searched to deter and suppress illegal activities. Traffic checks resulted in 121 reports for various traffic violations and one report for driving under the influence. Furthermore, three vehicles were impounded as part of investigations into traffic offenses. Police emphasize that these operations are part of a broader, ongoing, and intensified preventative plan to enhance citizen safety across all provinces. The increased police presence and targeted checks aim to address crime promptly and foster a sense of security within the community. The Police are committed to continuing these efforts.
