Ports and Airports Operating Normally, Says Vafeadis

The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeadis, stated that the ports and airports of Cyprus are operating normally, denying contrary information. He emphasized that the Cypriot economy will not be affected by the conflict in the Middle East. The Minister visited the ports of Limassol, confirming that operations are continuing as usual. He stressed that the ports and airports are open and the airspace remains open despite reports to the contrary. Cyprus, according to the Minister, will not be involved in the conflict and will continue to function as an economy, offering assistance and support. Humanitarian aid for Gaza, such as houses, beds and food, is stored at the port of Limassol. Mr. Vafeadis is monitoring the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the worst-case scenario would be a return to traffic through Gibraltar, but there is currently no such development. He confirmed that there is no indication of ships diverting from the port of Limassol, with 50 arrivals and departures in the last few days.
