President Christodoulides on British Bases: "Nothing is ruled out" - Calm and adherence to government announcements

President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, stated that he does not rule out the possibility of raising the issue of British Bases in Cyprus after the resolution of the current crisis. He emphasized the importance of calm and faithful adherence to government announcements regarding the situation. The government is closely monitoring developments, in cooperation with partners in the European Union and other countries, and the entire state mechanism is on alert. President Christodoulides assured that Cyprus is not involved in offensive or military operations and that it always seeks to be part of the solution. He also referred to improvements in shelter management and messaging, emphasizing that the recent SMS was a test and that efforts are being made to resolve the problems that arose. Regarding the concerns of the Cypriot people, the President called on citizens to be informed about the announcements of the Civil Defence and to know what to do in such cases. He also mentioned his meeting today with the head of British Intelligence, without providing further details.
