President Considers Abolishing Support Body Following Controversial Video

President Nikos Christodoulides stated that he is considering the complete abolition of the Support Body following the release of a controversial video. His wife, Philippa Karsera, has already announced her resignation from the Body and other charitable organizations. The President mentioned that transferring the Body to the State Scholarship Foundation is being considered, however, he predicted that there would still be accusations regarding its operation. He emphasized that a way will be found to continue supporting financially disadvantaged students, as the state's economic situation allows it. The President stated that he is willing to disclose the names of donors, if provided for by law. At the same time, Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letympiotis defended the operation of the Body, emphasizing that it is transparent and legal and that there is no question of its abolition. Mr. Letympiotis accused some of unfounded attacks with political and partisan motives, while stating that the Body has significantly strengthened support for students in the last two years.
