President of Cyprus to Address European Parliament, Emphasize EU Cohesion

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, will deliver a speech to the European Parliament on Tuesday, where he will emphasize the need for cohesion and strength within the EU. The speech will focus on Cyprus's European responsibility as the southeasternmost point of the Union and as the only European capital under occupation. Five interconnected pillars will be highlighted, such as autonomy through security and defense, economic security, and water security. The President will underscore the importance of respecting international law and the sovereignty of states.
