President of Cyprus to Meet with Costa and Zelenskyy During EU Presidency Inauguration

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, will hold a series of bilateral meetings on Wednesday, January 7th, as part of the Inauguration Ceremony of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union. These meetings include the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, focusing on coordinating European priorities and strengthening Europe's strategic autonomy. He will also meet with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at a critical time for European support to Ukraine, emphasizing peace and upholding international law. Furthermore, President Christodoulides will meet with the President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, to discuss stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and enhance EU-Southern Neighborhood cooperation. He will also receive the Minister of Petroleum of Egypt, who will represent the country's President at the ceremony. Following the ceremony, an official dinner will be hosted in honor of the heads of delegations, during which further contacts will be made with the President of Moldova, the President of Iraq, and other high-ranking officials. The aim of the meetings is to promote the interests of Cyprus and the European Union, as well as to address common challenges at regional and international level.
