President of Lebanon Visits Cyprus for Talks Amidst EU Presidency

The President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides met with the President of Lebanon Joseph Aoun, focusing on stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and strengthening cooperation between the EU and the Southern Neighborhood. The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace, prior to the official inauguration ceremony of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU. President Christodoulides emphasized the importance of Cyprus's accession to the EU and the country's preparation to deliver results during its presidency. The inauguration ceremony is expected to be attended by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Council Antonio Costa, as well as leaders and representatives from various countries and organizations.
