President of the House Discusses Veterans' Issues with 1974 National Guard Fighters Association

The President of the House of Representatives, Annita Dimitriou, met with a delegation from the Association of 1974 National Guard Fighters to discuss issues concerning veterans of the Turkish invasion. The discussion focused on the readjustment of the honorary allowance, the reduction of pensions for those retiring at age 63, health issues, and the awarding of a commemorative diploma or medal. Ms. Dimitriou emphasized that the state has a duty to correct distortions that deprive rightful recipients of necessary support, highlighting that 51 years after the invasion, it is a duty to address injustices. She pledged the unwavering support of the House of Representatives and to support their requests through parliamentary work. The meeting took place at a time when veterans face various difficulties and demand recognition of their contribution and satisfaction of their requests from the state. The President of the House of Representatives expressed her determination to contribute to achieving this goal.
