Protest Outside US Embassy in Nicosia Against US Intervention in Venezuela

Members of the Communist Initiative of Cyprus (KPC) held a protest outside the US Embassy in Nicosia, condemning the US intervention in Venezuela. The protesters expressed their solidarity with the Venezuelan people and denounced the recent US military attack, including bombings in Caracas, which led to the arrest of the legitimately elected President. The Organizing Secretary of the KPC, Antonis Michanikos, described the US intervention as another coup, part of the aggressiveness of US imperialism and its rivalry with other imperialist centers, such as Russia and China. He recalled the experience of Cyprus with the coup and the invasion of 1974, emphasizing that peoples must decide their own future. The KPC calls for an end to US intervention and respect for Venezuela's sovereignty. The protest is part of a broader international reaction to US policy in the region.
