Putin Invited to Participate in Peace Council, Kremlin Comments on Greenland

The Kremlin announced today that Russian President Vladimir Putin “received an invitation” to participate in the Peace Council, an initiative by US President Donald Trump regarding Gaza. Russia stated that it wants to clarify all the nuances of the proposal. At the same time, the Kremlin commented on Trump's proposal to buy Greenland, estimating that if it materializes, Trump will go down in history. However, it stressed that it will not comment on whether this move would be good or bad, but simply recognizes its potential historical significance. When asked to comment on Trump's statements about Russia posing a threat to Greenland, the Kremlin replied that there has been a lot of “worrying information” lately and added that Moscow will not comment on Russian plans for the Arctic island. Russia considers the West's claims of a Russian threat to Greenland unacceptable.
