Rain, Kesidis' Silver, and Cypriot Results

The European Cup of Throwing, hosted in Nicosia, is facing adverse weather conditions, with low temperatures and heavy rain. Despite the unfavorable conditions, the first day of the event went smoothly, with several good performances. Iosif Kesidis won the silver medal in the U23 hammer throw, while other Cypriot athletes made good efforts, despite the fact that many are young and newcomers. Kesidis threw 74.16m, the second-best performance, behind Hungarian Armin Sabantos (74.45m). This is Kesidis' third consecutive silver medal in the event. Irini Jane Theodorou, Kyriakos Vasiliou, Konstantina Antoniadou, Marina Chatzikosta and Raphael Zacharia also participated, achieving noteworthy efforts. The Organizing Committee and volunteers acted quickly to address the problems caused by the weather conditions, while the athletes showed admirable resilience and dedication despite the difficulties. The results of the Cypriot athletes were recorded in detail in the article.
