Rally in Support of Maduro Outside New York Court – President Rejects All Charges

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, appeared before a federal court in Manhattan, charged with conspiracy to commit narco-terrorism and drug trafficking. During their appearance, both pleaded not guilty to the charges. Outside the court, protesters gathered both in support and against Maduro, with heightened security measures. Maduro stated that he is innocent and an honorable man, while Flores presented herself as the “First Lady of the Republic of Venezuela.” A new hearing has been scheduled for March 17th.
