Registry of Handicrafts: Applications for Registration Accepted by the Cyprus Handicraft Service

The Cyprus Handicraft Service is accepting applications for registration in the Registry of Handicrafts from handicraft establishments located in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas (300-1,950 meters altitude) that produce small quantities of handicrafts. Law No. 129(I)/2023 defines the registration process and the conditions for carrying out handicraft activities. A handicraft establishment is defined as a private residence or small unit outside urban areas where products are produced and sold directly to the consumer. Products must belong to the categories in Annex Γ of the law and meet the requirements of the Cyprus Handicraft Service. The law applies to the production of small quantities of handicrafts sold directly to the end consumer, either in a private shop or at a market. Mountainous areas are defined as those with an altitude of 600-1,950 meters, while semi-mountainous areas are 300-600 meters. The Service issues a Handicraft/Handicraft Establishment Certificate, which is required to apply for registration in the Registry of Handicrafts, managed by the Cyprus Organization for Standardization (CYS). Applications can be submitted electronically or by mail. After registration, the person in charge of the establishment is committed to informing the Service of any changes.
