Reports: Panathinaikos Offered Livai Garcia

Published January 5, 2026, 12:22

According to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Panathinaikos has made an offer for Livai Garcia following the injury of Cyril Dessers. Dessers will be out for three months, and Panathinaikos is looking for a key striker. Garcia, who belongs to Spartak Moscow, is considered suitable for the needs of Rafa Benitez's team. However, Spartak Moscow is expected to demand a high 'loan fee' and a buy-out clause for Garcia, as well as full payment of his contract, which amounts to 2.5 million euros. Garcia was loaned to Spartak from AEK last February, but failed to fully adapt. This year, Garcia has scored 6 goals and provided 3 assists in 18 appearances for Spartak. Despite the offer, reports from Panathinaikos indicate that there is no immediate need to acquire a striker for the top of the attack.
