Roadworks to Cause Lane Closures on Motorways

The Public Works Department has announced a series of works to be carried out on motorways across Cyprus, resulting in temporary traffic arrangements. From January 7th, 2026 to January 9th, 2026, work to install electronic variable message signs will be carried out on the Nicosia-Larnaca (A2) and Larnaca-Nicosia (A3) motorways, with the left lane closed. Additionally, similar work will be carried out on the Limassol-Nicosia (A1) and Ayia Napa-Larnaca (A3) motorways during the same dates and times. From January 7th, 2026 to January 22nd, 2026 (excluding Fridays and weekends), road marking work will be carried out on the Limassol-Nicosia (A1) motorway, with partial lane closures between 8:00 PM and 5:30 AM. Drainage cleaning work will be carried out on the Paphos-Limassol (A6) motorway from January 5th, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with the fast lane closed. Finally, from January 7th, 2026 to February 9th, 2026, work to replace safety barriers on bridges along the Paphos-Polis (B7) road will be carried out, with one lane closed and two-way traffic on the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights. Drivers are advised to be particularly careful and follow the instructions of the authorities.
