Russia Responds to Finland's Nuclear Stance, in Contact with Iran

Russia has responded to Finland's decision to lift the ban on the deployment of nuclear weapons on its territory, describing it as an escalation of tensions in Europe and a potential threat to Moscow. Russia warned that it would take “appropriate measures” if it felt threatened. Finland, which joined NATO in 2023, had maintained neutrality during the Cold War. Simultaneously, Russia is in dialogue with representatives of the Iranian leadership, but declined to provide more information regarding possible assistance to Tehran, amid the war in Iran and increased demand for Russian energy products. Russia assures that it remains a reliable supplier of oil and natural gas.
