Russian Interior Minister Visits Cuba Amid Trump Threats

Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev visited Havana, Cuba, to express solidarity with the Cuban government following threats from US President Donald Trump regarding potential intervention. Trump had warned Cuba to “make a deal” or face consequences similar to those of Venezuela. Kolokoltsev condemned US actions as “unprovoked armed aggression” and emphasized the need for unity in countering external threats. Russia and Cuba have strengthened their relations since 2022, as Moscow seeks new trade partners following its invasion of Ukraine. Simultaneously, the US discussed the situation in Cuba and the Caribbean with officials in Miami.
