Today, Wednesday, March 18th, commemorates the memory of Saint Edward of England. Saint Edward was the son of King Edgar and was known for his purity and piety. He was murdered by his stepmother, Elfrida, and his remains were found intact after years, with a heavenly light appearing above his tomb. Today, the relics of Saint Edward are kept by Orthodox Russian monks near London. Saint Edward martyred in 978 AD. Simultaneously, March 18th is designated as the International Day of Mobilization against the Occupation of Iraq.
