Secretly Recorded Meeting: Conviction Upheld - Believed it Would Be Used in Court, Ultimately Convicted!

The Court of Appeal upheld a conviction for the interception of private communication content, ruling that recording a conversation without the knowledge and consent of the participants constitutes monitoring of “private communication” as defined by law. The convicted individual had recorded a meeting in which he participated by telephone, and later submitted the recording to a foreign court after being dismissed from the Organization. The lower court had already convicted the defendant, finding that the conversation was private and the recording illegal. The Court of Appeal confirmed the decision, rejecting the defendant's claims that the recording was necessary to protect his rights.
