Sizopoulos Will Not Object to Lifting of Immunity – “Hope Police and Legal Service Will Conduct Objective Investigation” – Hearing on March 16th

MP Marinos Sizopoulos will not object to the lifting of his parliamentary immunity, wishing to facilitate the administration of justice. The case concerns an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Authority regarding potential fraud, forgery, and conspiracy to defraud, related to the sale of shares of the Taxan company to an Iraqi investor. According to the investigation, the sale price was reported lower to the bank in order to deceive and obtain financial benefit. The hearing of the case is scheduled for March 16th, where the positions of both sides will be submitted in writing. Sizopoulos categorically denies the charges, while he had reported the events to the Police in 2019.
