Social Partners Agree National Unity is Key Protection

Following the meeting of the Labour Advisory Board, the Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, Marinos Mousiouttas, stated that social partners agreed that national unity is a significant shield of protection, given developments in the Middle East. The Board discussed geopolitical developments and praised the calm and decisive stance of the President of the Republic and the Government. The Minister mentioned that the Board welcomed the mobilization of diplomatic and defense resources by Greece and other EU member states, as well as the informing of citizens with composure and transparency. The discussion focused on the need for national unity and cooperation of social partners to address the challenges. Mr. Mousiouttas emphasized that consensus on major issues makes it easier to resolve smaller issues on the Board's agenda. The meeting of the Labour Advisory Board took place during a critical period, against the backdrop of rising tensions in the region. The common finding regarding the importance of national unity underscores the need for unity and cooperation in a period of geopolitical uncertainty to ensure the protection of Cyprus's interests.
