Sparkle and Hellas Sat Test Quantum Security in Greece

Sparkle and Hellas Sat have completed a pilot test of quantum security between their data centers in Greece, confirming the ability to securely transfer data via an IPsec Tunnel connection protected by quantum-resistant encryption. Sparkle's Quantum Safe Interconnect (QSI) technology was successfully integrated into a conventional network, enabling secure key exchange and automatic renewal. The test leveraged the high speeds of Hellas Sat's infrastructure, demonstrating the ability to create a highly secure virtual private network (VPN). The goal is to protect sensitive data from future threats, including quantum decryption. The QSI solution is software-based, facilitating its implementation on existing infrastructure and the gradual upgrade of cybersecurity. The companies plan to expand their collaboration to satellite communication applications, leveraging Hellas Sat's satellites to extend QSI technology to other business uses.
