Stella Malloupa Passes Away – Made Cypriot Tradition a Taste and Memory

Stella Malloupa, author and prominent representative of Cypriot traditional cuisine, passed away on Tuesday, January 20th, at the age of 79. Malloupa became known through her books, “Traditional Recipes of Grandpa and Grandma,” which captured the philosophy, memory, and way of life of the Cypriot family. She frequently presented Cypriot recipes on television, contributing to the dissemination and preservation of Cyprus's culinary tradition. Her family announced that, in lieu of wreaths, they wish donations to be made to the Cyprus Anticancer Association. Malloupa was born in an occupied village and learned to cook from a young age, collecting recipes from all over Cyprus and emphasizing simplicity, patience, and respect for the ingredients.
