Supreme Court Reverses Ruling in 1995 Traffic Accident Case: Lawsuit for Quadriplegic Pedestrian Reopened

The Supreme Court has decided to re-examine a 1995 traffic accident case that left a man quadriplegic. The initial lawsuit filed by the victim's wife against the driver was dismissed, but she filed a new lawsuit against the Attorney General and the Municipality of Lakatamia, arguing that the lack of lighting and pedestrian crossings contributed to the accident. The lower court also dismissed this lawsuit, but the Supreme Court ruled that the dismissal was incorrect, as the lower court did not adequately assess the evidence and examine the issue of damages. The case is being sent back for retrial.
