Syrian Student in Limassol Reports Racism: “It Never Stopped”

Rimas Ejbara, a high school student from Syria, has spoken out about experiences of racism and bullying she faced in Limassol, due to her origin and gender. Speaking at a conference on racism, she described experiences where classmates reacted to her presence at school events due to her foreign background, and also faced bullying from classmates because of her appearance. She also reported racist behavior from a teacher. At the same time, her teacher describes her as an excellent student with critical thinking and courage.
