Tax Department: Extensions for VAT Returns and Payments

The Tax Department has announced extensions for the submission of VAT and INTRASTAT returns, as well as for VAT payments. Specifically, the deadline for VAT and INTRASTAT returns relating to November and December 2024, respectively, is extended to January 14, 2025. In addition, the deadline for submitting and paying VAT for November 2025, as well as for the Summary Report (VIES) for December 2025, is extended to January 20, 2026. An extension is also granted for the submission and payment of the fixed amount of VAT for urban taxis. The Tax Department reminds that late VAT returns are subject to a €100 penalty, while late payment of VAT due is subject to an additional 10% tax. Penalties are also imposed for late submission of INTRASTAT and VIES returns, as well as for urban taxis. These extensions aim to facilitate taxpayers and avoid additional financial burdens due to non-compliance with tax obligations.
