The @EmilyTanalyst Profile Under Scrutiny: Who Published the Controversial Video?

Published January 9, 2026, 11:23

Internet security expert, Dino Pastos, conducted an analysis of the @EmilyTanalyst account on 'X', which published the video that caused political uproar in Cyprus. The video allegedly records conversations between political and business figures regarding illegal funding and circumvention of sanctions. Pastos identified unusual details in the account's font, specifically iota without accents and a final sigma with a peculiar shape, reminiscent of a Turkish keyboard. According to the expert, this could be an error or a deliberate attempt at deception. Furthermore, Pastos pointed out that the account uses the web to access 'X', which is more common for automated accounts, and that the IP address originates from the United Kingdom, without this being conclusive evidence of the user's actual location. The account appears to have been active since 2022. The analysis by Pastos follows the reactions caused by the publication of the video, with accusations and mutual recriminations between political figures. AKEL accused Viktor Anastasiadis of serving Presidents according to their fee, while Anastasiadis responded that AKEL was in a difficult position. In parallel, there are allegations of the involvement of a former Minister, who allegedly purchased a safe for personal use, as well as references to 'secret' conversations with alleged investors and shadows over funding. The government is in crisis due to the serious allegations arising from the video.
