The New Digital Window of Sexual Exploitation
Leonid Radvinsky, the founder of the OnlyFans platform, died at the age of 43 from cancer. The OnlyFans platform, which experienced explosive growth during the pandemic, became known for providing adult content and ease of income generation for content creators. However, the platform's success has been accompanied by criticism regarding the exploitation of women and the promotion of objectification. The article argues that OnlyFans did not implement anything new, but renewed the older system of prostitution exploitation, presenting it as a progressive and liberal option. The platform attracted women with the promise of financial independence, but in reality, the majority of content creators have low incomes and are forced to produce increasingly extreme content to increase their profits. Testimonials from women who have used the platform describe psychological damage, disorders and social marginalization. In addition, there are reports of women being forced to participate in the platform by partners and pimps, confirming that prostitution, despite its new marketing, remains a system of exploitation.
