Tragedy in Paphos: Restaurant Owner Finds Employee Dead – Lit Coals to Stay Warm – 32-Year-Old Woman in Critical Condition

A tragic incident occurred around 9:45 am on Sunday (15/03) in Paphos. According to the Police, a 59-year-old restaurant owner reported to the authorities that he found his 44-year-old employee and an unknown woman unconscious in a basement of the restaurant, which the 44-year-old used as a residence. Police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed that the 44-year-old was dead, while the woman, later identified as a 32-year-old domestic worker, was taken to Paphos General Hospital with serious respiratory problems and is hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit. A metal container with lit coals was found in the room where the two individuals were found, which they apparently used for heating, causing fumes that led to the 44-year-old's death. The cause of death will be determined after a legal autopsy.
