Troodos: Search Operation for Two Young Hikers

Yesterday afternoon, a search operation was launched to locate two young hikers, aged 21 and 23, who lost their way on the 'Atalanti' nature trail in Troodos. The hikers were not injured, but the onset of darkness made their safe departure from the area difficult. The Police transmitted their location to the Emergency Response and Rescue Group (EMAK), which took over the rescue operation. Members of the Platres Police Station managed to locate the two young hikers and lead them safely off the trail. Two fire trucks participated in the operation, and the successful outcome was due to the immediate mobilization of the authorities and the good health of the hikers. The Troodos region is known for its beautiful trails, but caution is required when hiking, especially in low-light conditions.
