Turkey Rejects 'Occupation' and 'Invasion' Claims Regarding Cyprus

Turkey has firmly rejected references to 'occupation' and 'invasion' concerning Cyprus, reacting to the Cypriot Republic's assumption of the European Union presidency. In a statement, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs accuses the Cypriot Republic of seizing state institutions by the Greek Cypriot side since 1963, while also strongly criticizing the EU for selective sensitivity and political bias. Ankara questions the EU's role as a neutral actor in resolving the Cyprus issue, arguing that the Cypriot presidency is being used to promote a distorted narrative.
