Ukraine: Russian Attacks on 2 Foreign-Flagged Ships in Odessa Region

Russian forces attacked two foreign-flagged commercial ships with drones in the Odessa region of southern Ukraine. According to Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, the attacks resulted in the death of one Syrian citizen and injuries to others. One ship, flying the flag of Saint Christopher and Nevis, was heading towards the port of Chornomorsk, while the other, flying the flag of the Comoros Islands, was near the port of Odessa. These attacks represent an escalation of Russian military activity in the region and pose a threat to commercial shipping.
