Understaffed Public Hospital Call Centers – OKYPY's Response

Call centers in public hospitals are underperforming due to understaffing, according to Michalis Christofides, secretary of the PASYDY telephone operators' branch. The operation of the call centers is at risk of being disrupted at night at the Makarios Hospital, and the Larnaca Hospital will have only one telephone operator in a month. Mr. Christofides accuses the state of abolishing permanent telephone operator positions while being aware of the problem for four years, and criticizes OKYPY for negligence. OKYPY responds that there are 13 telephone operator positions in the budget and new positions will be announced if necessary, while other solutions are also being considered. It is assured that no problems will be caused and all needs will be met.
