US: Aldrich Ames, CIA Spy for Moscow, Dies

Aldrich Ames, a CIA agent sentenced to life in prison for spying on behalf of Moscow, has died at the age of 84. Ames, a counterintelligence analyst, betrayed the US by selling information to the then-Soviet Union for $2.5 million. His betrayal had severe consequences, endangering secret operations and leading to the deaths of more than ten double agents. His and his wife Rosario's activities were revealed in 1994, after years of suspicion due to their lavish lifestyle.
