Young Hikers Lost on Troodos Mountain Trail, Rescued by Emergency Services

Two young individuals, aged 21 and 23, went missing in the Troodos Mountains area, specifically on the 'Atalanti' nature trail. An alarm was raised at 6:40 PM, mobilizing the Emergency Response and Rescue Team (EMAK) and the Moniatis Outdoor Station to locate them. The hikers were not injured, but they were struggling to find their way to a safe location due to the approaching darkness. The Police provided EMAK with their precise location, facilitating the search efforts. Following coordinated efforts, personnel from the Platres Police Station successfully located the two young people, confirming they were in good health. The operation concluded with their safe transfer to a point where they could receive further assistance if needed. The prompt response of the emergency services and the accurate location information contributed to the successful outcome of the operation.
