Tension in the Trial of the German Real Estate Agent - Intention to Withdraw from the Defense Attorney

The hearing in the trial of the German real estate agent was marked by tension and the intention of the defense attorney to withdraw from the case. Sotiris Argyrou cited the enormous volume of evidence and procedural obstacles, arguing that there is not enough time to prepare the defense. The prosecution rejected allegations of obstruction, while the defense raised objections during the testimony of the prosecution witness. Ultimately, after consulting with the defendant, Mr. Argyrou decided not to withdraw from the case, at least for the time being. The proceedings continued with the testimony of witness Konstantinos Anastasiou, who presented evidence from mobile phone data extraction. The defendant faces 46 charges of fraudulent transactions in real estate, illegal use of properties, and money laundering. It is recalled that yesterday the request for the defendant's release was rejected, with the court emphasizing that no differentiating data has been demonstrated to justify her release. The trial will continue on Monday, March 23, 2026.
