Double Wave of Bad Weather Approaching Cyprus with Rain and Storms

A double wave of bad weather is approaching Cyprus, with localized rain and isolated thunderstorms from tonight until Sunday. The Meteorological Service expects a yellow warning to be issued for strong thunderstorms tomorrow, mainly for inland and mountainous areas. The first wave of bad weather is expected to bring rain from tonight, while the second will affect the region from Friday to Sunday. Andreas Hadjigeorgiou, an official from the Meteorological Department, stated that a low-pressure system from Egypt will affect Cyprus, bringing rain and the possibility of storms. The second wave of bad weather will also be unstable, with intermittent rain and isolated thunderstorms, while snow or sleet cannot be ruled out on the highest peaks of Troodos. The temperature today reaches 22 degrees Celsius, but is expected to drop to 20-21 degrees tomorrow and decrease further on Saturday. A warning has already been issued for strong winds on the coasts, which may reach 6-7 Beaufort. The authorities recommend that citizens be prepared for the severe weather phenomena and take the necessary protection measures. The situation will be closely monitored by the Meteorological Service.
