Erhurman: Comments on Samaras' reference to Annan plan and Greek support – “Balance with Turkey is not realistic”

T/C leader Tufan Erhurman expressed concern over the increasing military presence of foreign powers in Cyprus, particularly in the southern part of the island, and the potential impact on security and tourism. He criticized military alliances and agreements that, he claims, aim to create a balance against Turkey, which he considers unrealistic and dangerous for the island. Erhurman referred to an article by former Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras regarding the Annan plan, emphasizing that its implementation would lead to a situation where a T/C could be President and Greece would have limited military intervention capabilities. He stressed that the Turkish Cypriot people should not pay the price for the mistakes of others and that their will must be taken into account. He called for an immediate end to the war.
