Iran Closes Airspace, Lufthansa Reroutes Flights Amid Middle East Tensions

Iran has temporarily closed its airspace to almost all flights, allowing only international flights and those with prior authorization. Lufthansa announced it will reroute flights to avoid the airspace of Iran and Iraq “until further notice” due to heightened tensions in the Middle East. Furthermore, Lufthansa will operate flights to and from Israel and Jordan as day trips, without overnight stays for crews, and may cancel some flights. German authorities have not commented on their own security recommendations.
