Changes to Admission Criteria for Military Schools Announced by Ministry of Defence

The Ministry of Defence has announced changes to the admission criteria for military schools, which have been published in the Official Gazette. The changes concern the anthropometric data and health status of candidates, in order to be compatible with those in force in the corresponding military schools in Greece. Specifically, for admission to A.S.E.I. and A.S.S.Y. in 2026, male candidates must be at least 1.65m tall and women 1.55m, while for the Flying Department of the Air Force Academy the limits are 1.70-1.90m for men and 1.65-1.90m for women. In addition, limits are set for Body Mass Index (BMI) and visual acuity, as well as requirements for recognizing the tricolor light for certain departments. The deadline for submitting documents has been extended until March 26, 2026.
