Dendias Reports on Greece's Defense Equipment from London

Defense Minister Nikos Dendias announced that a series of important defense equipment programs will be submitted for opinion to the Special Standing Committee on Armaments Programs and Contracts of the Parliament. These programs are part of the Long-Term Defense Equipment Planning and are part of the “Agenda 2030”. The main focus is the upgrading of the country's air defense through the creation of a multi-layered mechanism to counter aerial threats, also known as the “Achilles Shield”. In addition, the creation of infrastructure at the Andravida airbase for the integration of F-35 aircraft is planned, as well as the upgrading of F-16s to Viper level, the modernization of MEKO frigates, and a series of aircraft support programs. Mr. Dendias emphasized that maintenance and support contracts are now treated as armaments programs with transparency and information to the Parliament.
