President of the Commission Faces Another Motion of Censure

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will again face a motion of censure in the European Parliament, this time from the far-right 'Patriots for Europe' group. The motion focuses on criticism of the EU's trade agreement with the Mercosur countries (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay). The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, has already informed the heads of the political groups. The debate and vote are expected to take place next week in Strasbourg. This is the fourth motion of censure against von der Leyen and her Commission within six months. To be debated, the motion requires the support of at least 10% of MEPs.
