Turkish Cypriot Journalists Report Threats

The Turkish Cypriot Journalists' Association (KTGB) condemned a new incident of threats and obstruction of journalists' work in the occupied territories, describing it as a direct attack on freedom of the press and expression. The incident occurred after a trial in Kyrenia, where a relative of the defendant threatened and prevented three journalists from recording images. The KTGB recalled similar incidents in the past and emphasized that obstructing journalists constitutes an attack on the public's right to information and freedom of the press, while stating that journalists do not represent any side, but have a responsibility to be the voice of the public.
