Former US President Donald Trump has threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act within the United States, responding to protests in Minnesota. Trump's threat came after incidents where protesters allegedly targeted Immigration and Control Services agents. According to a report by The Washington Post, the Pentagon has ordered approximately 1,500 soldiers to prepare for potential deployment to Minnesota, in case of escalating violence. Trump accused the "corrupt politicians" of Minnesota of failing to stop "professional agitators and rioters." He stated he would use the Insurrection Act if state authorities do not enforce order. Neither the Pentagon nor the White House have yet commented on the developments.
